Who we are
KHAYT is a trading name of Khayt Atelier, a small clothing house registered in Egypt, operating out of Cairo and Fayoum. Correspondence address and tax details are available on request to care@khayt.house.
Orders & acceptance
When you place an order we send a confirmation email. That email is an acknowledgement, not acceptance. A contract forms only when we email you again to say your order has shipped.
We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order — for example, if a piece has sold out simultaneously, if we detect fraud, or if the price was displayed incorrectly by a system error. If we cancel, we refund you in full and apologise with a 10% voucher for a future order.
Pricing & payment
- Prices are shown in Egyptian pounds (EGP) unless otherwise stated and include local VAT where applicable.
- We accept major card networks through our payment partner. Your card details never touch our servers.
- For international orders, your bank may apply a currency-conversion fee which is outside our control.
- Duties and import taxes for cross-border shipments are the responsibility of the recipient, unless we agree a delivered-duty-paid rate in writing.
Delivery
Delivery windows are our best estimate — see the shipping page for details. Risk of loss passes to you when the courier confirms delivery. If a parcel arrives damaged, photograph it before opening and email us within 48 hours.
Returns & cancellation
You have thirty days to return unworn pieces — see the returns page for the full process. Where required by law (e.g. distance-selling rules in the EU), statutory cancellation rights apply in addition to our policy.
Intellectual property
The KHAYT word and the خيط mark, together with all imagery, copy, patterns, and technical drawings on this site, belong to Khayt Atelier or our licensors. Please don't copy them. If you'd like to feature our work editorially, just write to us.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your sign-in details private. Let us know immediately if you suspect someone else has used your account — we'll lock it and help you recover.
You can ask us to close your account at any time by emailing care@khayt.house; we will retain only what is required by tax and accounting law.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death, personal injury, or fraud. Otherwise, our total liability to you arising from an order is limited to the price of the affected piece. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (for example, lost earnings from a missed occasion) — though we will always try to make things right within reason.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Disputes that can't be resolved by talking will be decided by the courts of Cairo. Your statutory consumer rights in your own country remain unaffected.
Changes to these terms
We update these terms now and then — to reflect new shipping routes, new laws, or lessons learned. The current version is always on this page, with a "last updated" date at the top. Material changes are emailed to account holders at least two weeks in advance.

If anything here feels unclear, or unfair, tell us. We would rather rewrite a sentence than hide behind it.
